Understanding Vascular Health

The vascular system is your body’s network of blood vessels, responsible for delivering oxygen and nutrients to every cell. When this system is compromised, it can lead to serious health complications. Our practice specializes in diagnosing and treating conditions affecting both arteries and veins, using advanced techniques and technology to restore proper blood flow and improve overall health.

Signs You May Need Vascular Care

Common symptoms that may indicate vascular issues include:

  • Leg pain during walking that improves with rest
  • Slow-healing wounds on legs or feet
  • Cold feet or legs
  • Changes in skin color or texture
  • Numbness or tingling in extremities
  • Signs of stroke:  face drooping, extremity weakness, slurred speech
  • Sudden, severe abdominal or back pain
  • Visible varicose or spider veins
  • Swelling in legs or ankles

Our Specialized Services

Each patient’s vascular condition is unique, requiring an individualized approach to care. Our team will work with you to determine the most appropriate care plan for your specific needs, which may include conservative management, minimally invasive procedures, or advanced surgical techniques. Click on any of our specialized areas below to learn more about specific conditions and treatments.

PAD occurs when narrowed arteries reduce blood flow to your limbs, most commonly affecting the legs. Our comprehensive approach includes lifestyle modifications, medications, and advanced interventional procedures to manage symptoms, improve quality of life, and prevent serious complications like limb loss.

Aneurysms occur when the vessel wall is weakened, resulting in abnormal widening or ballooning of the wall. Management options may include nonoperative surveillance, minimally invasive endovascular repair, or traditional open surgery to prevent serious complications of aneurysmal disease such as embolization or rupture.

Carotid artery occlusive disease is a narrowing or blockage of the carotid arteries, leading to increased risk of stroke. Treatments include lifestyle and risk factor modifications, standard open carotid endarterectomy, or minimally invasive carotid stent placement.

We treat both chronic and acute venous conditions, from varicose veins to deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Our treatment options range from conservative management with compression therapy to minimally invasive procedures, tailored to each patient’s specific condition and symptoms.

Our endovascular procedures offer minimally invasive solutions through small incisions, leading to faster recovery times and fewer complications. Often, these procedures can be done as an outpatient procedure with the patient returning home the same day. Using advanced imaging guidance, we perform procedures such as angioplasty, stenting, and treatment of various vascular conditions without the need for traditional open surgery.

We specialize in creating and maintaining arteriovenous (AV) fistulas, the preferred method for long-term dialysis access. Our comprehensive approach includes not only the initial creation of your fistula but also ongoing maintenance and collaboration with your healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes for your dialysis treatment.
